We are excited to announce that we are in the process of adopting a little one from Thailand!
When I (Abby) was a child, my parents took me and my sister on a missions trip to Thailand, and I visited an orphanage there. Row upon row of cribs lined the rooms. One little girl reached her arms out to me, and I picked her up. The girl wrapped her arms and legs around me and held on—desperate for any warmth and connection. The sadness of her situation broke my heart. From that time on, I knew that I would someday adopt.
When Suhas and I met, I told him about these experiences, and about my desire to adopt. I was surprised to find out that he wanted to adopt too! Suhas has compassion for the forgotten, and after seeing the poverty of India (his birth country) from a young age, he has felt compelled to act.
Many of you know that we were in the process of adopting from India, but we had to withdraw from that effort because of changes in the way India processes international adoption. It was sad but we had our bio-baby Isaac, and now Isaac would really like a “silly little brother” (or sister).
Adopting from Thailand will help a little one find a loving family and grow ours!
