Our Call to Love – Lynch Family Adoption

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our adoption journey! We realize that completing an adoption requires a village and is the reason behind creating this page. We are in most desperate need of your prayers; prayers for God’s guidance through this process, prayers for our sweet baby’s birth mom to choose life for her child and to make difficult decisions for the future of her child, prayers for our family through the ups and downs of all of our emotions, and prayers for finances to come through as needed. Adoption is a complicated and confusing process, yet we know that God has called us here and now.

We have felt the call to adoption since the beginning of our relationship.  While still dating, we attended a Steven Curtis Chapman concert and heard his adoption testimony.  We were moved by his testimony and felt that adoption would be something we would want to pursue “someday.”  We got married and grew in our marriage for the first 5 years before wanting to have children.

We felt the desire to have a biological child first and did not feel a strong leading into adoption at that time. Our oldest son, Lucas, was born 7 years ago, forever affecting each of us and our walk with the Lord. He was born with a severe heart defect that left us clinging to the Lord for peace. We found a new depth in our relationships with the Lord through that trial that only deepened with time.  We witnessed the hand of God at work through Lucas from the very beginning.  We knew Lucas was our priority due to the frailty of his health condition.

He grew stronger and had an additional open heart surgery at 3 years old leaving both of us ready to devote our entire lives to serving the Lord. Wes accepted a call into full-time ministry and April took a leap of faith into a new job after months of prayers. Lucas was cleared by the doctors to live a “normal” life for many more years before needing more intervention.  Around this time, we were also praying about extending our family.  Neither of us knew if we should have another biological child due to the possibility of having another child with a congenital heart defect, but gave it to the Lord for direction.  We wanted to entertain the idea of adoption at that time, but found out quickly that we were pregnant with our second child.  Jensen was born in July of 2015 and had an easy, “normal” delivery. We were able to bring him home as scheduled and felt a release from the pain of the first experience.

We continued to pray for God’s direction and will on expanding our family further and both feel confident that He is leading us to adopt.  For the first time in our marriage, both of us have peace about this being the direction God is calling us.  Our boys are excited about the prospect of having a baby and Lucas prays every night for his baby “sister” that we will be able to find her and bring her home safely.

We have complete peace about this journey, even though the finances don’t “add up.”  We do not know where or how we will pay for this adoption, but have faith that since God has brought us to this journey He will see us through it. We are having faith that He will provide!  Our adoption verse is James 1:27, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”  We want to be “doers” of the Word and not just “hearers.”

We have been blessed with a $2000 matching grant from Grace/Hands of Hope Adoption Fund (administered by Lifesong for Orphans) that will help pay for our adoption expenses!  If you feel like God is calling you to help financially we would greatly appreciate your support! If you are unable to help financially then would you pray for us? We love and appreciate each and every one of you and are excited to see what God has in store for our growing family!
