Bryant Family Adoption Story

WE ARE MATCHED FOR ADOPTION!!!

Update: April 21, 2026

After almost 5 years of waiting, the Bryant Family has finally been matched to the most precious baby boy, and we are in the beginning stages of adopting him as our son! The Lord’s timing is perfect and we are so grateful for Him bringing His calling and His promises to fruition for such a time as this. So many have been faithful in stewarding prayers as our family waited on this gift.  For Brooke and I, as well as our children; we have been drawn into the heart and provision of God as we have waited for Canaan.  Our faith and our children’s faith has been increased and we are rejoicing in what He is doing in our family’s lives.

So many of you generously gave financially all of those years ago at the beginning of this journey and we wanted you to know that those funds have been and are currently being put to use. Thank you!  We are beyond blessed.  Many ofthers are asking how they can help in the coming months as we work to finalize the adoption, so we wanted to drop this link again.  By donating here (tax deductible – read the bottom of this post for more information), it gives us the capability to utilize funds towards travel expenses, attorney fees, placement fees, and needed items for the baby.

If you would like to hear more about the incredible story that God is orchestrating, please reach out, we would be excited to share. Unfortunately until everything is finalized, we can not include any pictures, but we can not wait for you to meet him!  In the meantime we covet your prayers for our family.

Our Original Call to Adopt

Wade and I felt God bending our hearts toward adoption as we grew in our own understanding of adoption into the family of God. We began to see a thread of adoption woven throughout the entire Bible. Through prayer and learning His heart for the matter, we knew He was calling us to represent Him through adoption. We also desired biological children, hoping for a large family. The Lord blessed us with four biological children over the span of 7 years! Throughout that time, we were confident that adoption would be part of our story in God’s perfect timing.

Wade and I are excited that He has chosen us for this journey, and expectant, knowing He will be with us every step of the way. We are overwhelmed with gratitude that God has adopted us into His family, and that we have an inheritance through Jesus Christ. There has been a theme of inheritance throughout our entire adoption story. The Lord has given us the name, Canaan, for the son He is calling us to adopt. Just as the Israelites inherited the land of Canaan, a land that was not their own, we will inherit a son, and likewise; our son will inherit a forever family.

God has spoken to us in unique ways through this process, and we’d love to share one of those stories with you. Wade had a necklace made for me on Mother’s Day last year with each of our biological children’s names, as well as Canaan’s name engraved on small rings. After leaving a church event, I realized that the necklace was broken, and the rings had fallen off. Later that week, we went back to attempt to find the tiny pieces. It had rained and the cleaning crew had already come, so I was not expecting to find them, but we went to look just in case. As we were getting out of the car, I felt the Spirit prompting me to pray that we would find Canaan’s piece, and that if we only found his that it was time to start the adoption process. So, I prayed, but did not verbalize that prayer to Wade. After I searched outside and Wade went inside to look, we reconvened. Of course, Wade had only found one piece out of the five, and it was Canaan’s! The Lord, in His kindness, spoke to me so clearly, and I knew it was time. So here we are, waiting on God’s blessing and in awe of Him speaking to us!
