Hi, Family & Friends!
We are so excited about growing our family through adoption! You may or may not know that Scott and I have wanted to have another child for almost 4 years now. It's been a very long wait and process. We first tried fertility treatments; then when those didn't work we started the process to adopt through foster care. But somehow foster care didn't seem like the right fit for us. In the end, I'm so glad that God led us to adopt an orphan from China. And we are so excited to bring our little Tommy home!
Little "Yu Shuo" (soon to be Tommy Congdon) was abandoned at just 10 days old. Tommy has Hydrocephalus and possibly some signs of Cerebral Palsy, so he has lived almost his entire life in a medical facility. I'm sure that the doctors and therapists have done wonders for his physical health, but that is no way for a young child to live. It breaks my heart to think of him living in a sterile hospital environment with no mom or dad to love on him, no siblings to play with, and no consistent bond with anyone outside of the hospital staff.
Please consider donating to our adoption fund (International Adoption is very costly). We have been given a $2,000 Matching Grant through Gregory's Gift and Lifesong for Orphans. So whatever you donate, the amount will be doubled!
God Bless you!
