Bringing Randall Home!!!

Cory Karbach
Cory Karbach FORT WAYNE, Indiana
Our Adoption story began in 2012. I heard about international adoption through our church during Adoption Weekend. My heart instantly broke. I began to pray that God would change Cory's heart on this matter. Over the years, God does what only God could, and Cory's heart began to change and then break for adoption.

In July of 2017, we traveled to Mozambique Africa for a mission’s trip. At the end of the trip we spent 2 days in South Africa. Our hearts were 100% in Africa (more than we knew at the time). We felt like we left a little part of us there and have been longing to return. As soon as we got back from Africa, we began a hard discussion about having bio kids or to start the adoption process. We stated that we would do both and whichever way God wanted us to go, we would go.

EVERY SINGLE DOOR opened perfectly for adoption and guided us right to South Africa to adopt from. After waiting a long 7 months for our home study, we received a finalized home study in June of 2018. A few weeks after our home study was approved, we were presented a little boy. This was totally out of nowhere! We were expecting to finish our dossier process and wait a year or 2 before getting matched. We were open to up to 3 children up to the age of 10. We were preparing for older children in a sibling group.

Again, God's plan is so much better than we could have ever imagined. We were soft matched in the middle of July 2018 with our son, who had just turned one. We had to be fingerprinted and finish up some immigration paperwork to complete the dossier process. At the very beginning of August 2018, we mailed in our dossier. Exactly two weeks later, we received a phone call that we had our official referral!!

This official referral came about two to four ish weeks sooner than expected. We will also be traveling way sooner than expected. Our hope is to have our son home with us for the holiday season of 2018. This would be the best Christmas present we could ever imagine.
