Our family was blessed with a beautiful little boy with Down syndrome in 2015. Nathan arrived in our family after 17 years of infertility and was such an unexpected blessing.
He taught us so much joy and taught us to appreciate and treasure the smallest things. After Christmas of 2016 our family discussed siblings for Nathan. We felt he would benefit from having others to learn and grow with.
International adoption was the furtherst thing from our minds! Yet, one night we came across a post by a mom adopting a beautiful little boy with Down syndrome. I sent her a message not expecting a response and soon we were chatting away. She shared her story and offered to connect our family with an orgnaization to gather more information. After praying about it, discussing it further, and going over the information, we identified a little girl with Down snydrome who had recently became available for adoption. Immediately, we knew this child was meant for our family.
Our family remained open to adopting a second child and God provided a son with Down syndrome. We are so eager to bring these precious children home.
Please help us as time before travel is very limited. Every step of the way God has provided the financial need. He has continued to give confirmation this is His will when we sought confirmation throughout various steps of the process. We trust He will see this through.
We are adopting two children within the same country, but in different regions. The cost for their adoption per child, per region is: $8500 x2 for facilitation of adoption including translation, court fees, orphanage fees, etc. $1500 x2 for waivers, $250 x2 for US embassy medical exams, $325 x2 for visa to enter the US, $775 for immigration, $500 x2 for child passport, and child’s flight home $750 x2.
In country living expenses for two regions, including travel to separate regions and then to the capital to complete the adoption process is about $6400 plus $1000 for emergency cash. Adult flights for two round trips is $3000. We currently need to raise $23-24,000.
