Hello Sweet Friends and Family!
We have had a busy summer and it isn’t over yet! Many of you know that Brian was deployed over a month ago. Hutton and I miss him so much, but we are trying to keep busy by taking this time to visit with our loved ones.
Early in the summer Hutton and I traveled to Florida to spend time with my parents and grandparents. We enjoyed celebrating Hutton and my dad’s birthdays and saw lots of our cousins. We are currently in South Bend with our Notre Dame family and enjoying the cooler temperatures. We have plans to end the summer by visiting my brother in Vermont. Having so many friends and family open their homes to us while Brian has been away has been such a blessing, as each of these people have helped me with Hutton so much and been great company so we aren’t alone. After we return to Georgia in September, Hutton will officially start pre-school! This will help me tremendously by enabling me to have a more consistent work schedule. Then, we patiently wait for Brian to come home to us!
We have some exciting news to share with you regarding the family God has blessed us with. As you know, we adopted sweet Hutton last July! He has been the greatest joy and we are so thankful for him. Shortly after finalizing his adoption we began our new home study to adopt again. We were told that it often takes years to match with a second baby and that we should go ahead and begin the process. However, we quickly received a phone call about a mom who matched with us. We are intending to adopt her baby this December! We are shocked and thrilled and can’t wait to welcome another child into our home this year! It will be the best Christmas gift ever!
Adoption is costly and this one has been quoted at over $67,000. Due to the expensive nature of adoption, and completing two adoptions in back to back years, we have been awarded $7,000 in matching grants from Jeeah’s Hope Ministry Adoption Fund + Lifesong for Orphans to go towards this next baby’s legal and adoption expenses. We are so thankful for their generosity extended to our family!
Since we have been awarded a matching grant, we need your help in helping us to unlock the full amount they have offered! If you would like to financially contribute to bringing this baby home you can use the link on this page! If you aren’t in the place to financially donate, we want you to know that your prayers are equally as valuable to us. We would ask you to pray for the baby’s health as well as Tristan, the mother, as her pregnancy progresses and we get closer to delivery. We experienced many “failed” adoptions during our first adoption endeavor so we are holding this child with open hands, asking God to allow this baby to join our family but also knowing that He might have other plans. Please pray that our hearts would be open to receiving whatever God has in store for us.
Lastly, we have a fun project that we are doing alongside this fundraising. As you all know, I love quilting. I love that in order to make a quilt you gather many small pieces of fabric that alone don’t look like much, but when sewn together make a quilt that’s incredibly beautiful and useful. Likewise, we would appreciate your individual support for this adoption (whether it be through prayer or finances) to come together to make something beautiful- bringing this sweet baby home. To reflect this, I am making a quilt for this next baby that will have white blank spaces on it for you to sign your name or write a short message or scripture reference. We would love for this baby to have a quilt with all the names of the people who have contributed to bringing them home. If you feel led to contribute financially I will be notified through the website and send you a quilt square to sign. If you are committing to pray, send me a text or email and I will mail you a quilt square to sign. After I get them all back I will sew them together for this baby to keep and forever remind him or her of all the people who came together to make this a reality.
We love and appreciate each and every one of you! Feel free to reach out with any questions!
