The Lord laid adoption on our hearts very early on in our relationship; although, we were not sure when or where our adoption would take place. In our first year of marriage (2011/2012), the Lord pressed upon our hearts to go on a mission’s trip to Kenya. Although we had both been on many missions trips prior to this one, in three short weeks the Lord gave us a love and a passion for this place like nowhere we had been before. We returned the following Summer for four months and served as core team leaders for a ministry called "Love Africa" and in this time we started a women's ministry, "Zawadi: a gift" which seeks to bring women out of prostitution and teach them a trade, but most importantly teach them the love of our Savior. The Lord has taught us both so much through this ministry and renewed our knowledge of God’s love for us. How he adopted us. We had our first son, Saint, March 2015 and made more trips to Kenya in the first 2 years of his life. We began to feel the Lord say, "It's time to adopt". We knew Kenya was not adopting internationally, so we went next door to Uganda. We prayed fervently and started the paperwork. About a year in the process we were encouraged to consider another country, as legislation was changing. We prayed over other European countries that our organization was adopting through and felt no peace. The Lord told us Africa. We were left with the choice of leaving our agency and losing a lot of money we had invested or to wait. And pray. And wait. So we did that and in a few short months we received a phone call that said, "We have opened a program in Ghana and you meet ALL the requirements". God answered our prayers. He worked in the waiting. So we began the paperwork for Ghana and in God's perfect timing we were able to submit our paperwork to Ghana. We have yet to be officially matched with a child, but have been told a boy under the age of three. And now we continue to wait and pray trusting that He will meet ALL our needs…believing that He purposes the road blocks, the changes in countries, the waiting. And in it ALL we see Him at work. We would like to invite you on this journey with us! Please join us in praying for our sweet baby Klein. Pray for protection over him, caretakers who love him and that room would be prepared in his heart for us. We also invite you to join us in the journey through financial giving as we have been given a 3,000 dollar matching grant.
