Bring Home the New Payne

David Payne
David Payne Greensboro, North Carolina

Hi! We are David and Katie Payne and we are raising money to fund our adoption. We live in North Carolina with our two-year-old son and are looking forward to bringing another child into our family through international adoption. We have both known for a long time, even before we got married and had our first child, that adoption was something we wanted to do, but we just weren’t sure about the timing and when it would be right for us. With our son, Katie had an extremely painful pregnancy and a slow recovery from a very long labor. She knew she didn’t want to go through that again soon, but we both wanted to continue to grow our family sooner rather than later, so we decided that now was the time to adopt! The other, and more important, reasoning behind our desire to adopt has to do with the fact that we are unbelievably blessed to have been adopted into God’s family and we want to mirror the miracle of our adoption by extending the love that God has shown us to someone else. We are fortunate to be part of a community that richly celebrates and encourages adoption and have been absolutely blown away by the stories of adoption we have seen unfolding around us. Now it’s our turn to begin that journey!

We began pursuing domestic adoption in the summer of 2018 but through some changes in the process and also big changes in our own hearts, we have transitioned to adopting from India. This is stepping further outside our comfort than we expected when we started this journey but we have already found great joy in trusting God through this transition and we are so excited to bring home the new Payne from India!

Here’s where we would like to ask for your participation in our story: adoption is incredibly expensive! On our own it would be outside the realm of possibility, so we would be immensely grateful if you would consider supporting us financially and/or with your prayers and encouragement. We know we could be in for a long journey and can use all the help you are willing to give! Our total goal is $42,000 which includes the agency fees and attorney fees, travel to India, immigration fees, as well as helping to support our family while Katie is on FMLA after we bring our baby home.
