Hi! My name is Abby and I’m 5 years old. My family and I are so ecstatic that we are adopting a boy named Ethan RenNai. Ecstatic is a fancy word for happy. My mommy and daddy told me they always thought about adoption, but we never did it. That is until the day God called us and mommy saw his picture on her phone. I’m not sure how God got our number or what a Facebook is, but those are what helped us find my new big brother. He is seven and half years old and lives with about 12 other kids in “Chinese”. Want to hear something else crazy about him?
Mommy…how long do I wait for them to answer?
Oh. Never mind. He has the same rare birth defect as me! That’s crazy. I can’t wait to have someone to talk to about all the surgeries and stuff. It’s a little scary by myself sometimes. My daddy tells me that we are just waiting on some papers to travel over there and pick big brother up. Daddy said the flight is thiiiiiiis long. Oh, you can’t see me. Just believe me, it’s long.
My mommy and daddy asked me to write this letter so everyone knows how ecstatic we are. I think you remember what ecstatic means, so I won’t say it. We also ask for your prayers while we finish up this thing and flyyyyyyy to “Chinese” to bring him home. My parents tell me there are going to be some challenges like attachment and health issues. I like challenges. I beat my dad in races all the time, so we can do it.
We are also raising money to cover at least part of the adoption cost. I gave from my piggy bank, but guess it costs a little more than that. Do you have money in your piggy bank to give? Can you help bring big brother home? Daddy told me the adoption costs are around $40,000. We are trying to raise $16,000 to offset some of that cost. And you know what? We actually got a $2,500 matching grant from the Miriam’s Heart Adoption Fund, admin’d by Lifesong for Orphans. That’s so amazing! Thank you Miriam!
Well I guess that’s about it. We cannot wait for him to be here. We are so thankful for the love and support of all of you. We will keep you updated as we go. We love you all!!
Please read all of the adult stuff under this. Not sure what it means, but it has a lot of numbers which usually means it’s important.
