We are matched to adopt a 9-week old baby boy, named Andrew. We can’t wait to bring baby Andrew home, hopefully in the next few weeks!
This week marks 3 years since we officially began our adoption journey. Even deep amidst this adoption process, I can see how God has guided us through. His fingerprints are all over our lives and this journey. It feels as if we have come full circle in our adoption journey, as we started with a goal of foster-to-adopt; but then after learning and growing, God closed that door. Our experiences as foster parents taught us so much; it broke our hearts for the children and their parents. It made us more comfortable with the unknown. Even more so, it clarified that we wanted to have an adoption, where our child’s birthparents placed him with us; intentionally wanting us to give this child the best life possible.
Now, we are matched to adopt a baby boy from Florida. His name is Andrew! His birth parents have chosen us to raise him, and we will keep contact with them to build a relationship. He is 9 weeks old and currently in foster care; placed there upon leaving the hospital. This is an intervention adoption, since we are adopting through an agency, and pulling him out of foster care at the same time. It is complicated, expensive and there is more unknown than ever before. However, our God is so good and we fully trust Him to bring us the child He has designed for our family.
We need your help. This adoption process has forced us to ask for help in the past. However, the planners in us always had a back-up plan; an adoption loan that we could handle payments on once baby arrived. But we are in a new place, one we have never been before; we don’t have a back-up plan. The legal fees for this adoption are increased because of the complicated nature of this situation. In addition, we lost $7,000; in the failed adoption match earlier this year. We need your help. Even with our adoption loan, we are short $5,000; to cover the large sum placement fee; due when we pick up Andrew. Throughout the past couple years, we have been incredibly overwhelmed by the support of our friends, family and community. We have been applying for every grant we can find; but we must ask for help with the last bit we need to bring Andrew home. All gifts made through our Lifesong For Orphans account are tax-deductible. If you or anyone you know (including businesses) are looking to make a gift before the end of the year, please share this with them. God has stretched Brad and I throughout this adoption journey; we are so thankful for the growth He has given us during this long season of waiting for His blessing. We believe that He is going to provide.
Thank you for taking the time to read and share this page. We are grateful for your love, support and encouragement. The first court date is next Tuesday, 10/30; from which we are hoping to gain a better idea of the timeline for when we can go get our baby (best case scenario -two weeks; worst case- mid-December).
We can’t wait to introduce you to Andrew!
Lifesong has been blessed with partners who underwrite all U.S. administrative and fundraising costs (TMG Foundation and other partners). That means 100% of your donation will go directly to the agency adoption fees.
Tax-deductible donations are welcome from individuals and businesses.
