Evan and I have been married for 12 years. We knew we wanted children both biologically and adoptive, if that was God's will. In 2013 and 2018 we were blessed with two biological sons, Mac and Wes. Our hearts were filled with so much joy. As we settled into life as a family of four, we started discussing more children. That's when we decided to pursue adoption.
As most know, adoption is a very overwhelming journey. In August 2021, we were matched with a birthmother. That was one of the most exciting days in our life. We formed a very close relationship with the birthmother and birthfather. On February 28, 2022, we were handed the most beautiful brown eyed baby boy. Our hearts were so full and we knew all the waiting and praying had been worth it. However, our story took a very unexpected turn. Just 5 short weeks later, the Lord called our sweet baby boy home. While we will never understand why Lee’s life on Earth was so brief, we do know that God is sovereign over all things. Lee brought so much life and happiness into our hearts and home.
Evan and I were blessed to have such a strong support system during this time. Our families, church, and friends helped guide us through this dark time in our life.
We prayed that God would not let tragedy be the end of our story.
This past September we were contacted about a mother looking for a family for her baby boy. We asked for time to pray over this situation, and eventually decided to let her look at our profile. Within 24 hours, we were told the birthmother wanted us to adopt her unborn son. We were so excited to have been given this opportunity. Unfortunately, soon after matching, we found out the adoption would not be moving forward. Although disappointed, we knew this was part of God’s bigger plan.
Fast forward to just a few weeks ago. We got the call that Lee’s birthparents were expecting a baby boy and wanted to know if we would adopt him. Of course we said yes. God willing, we will get to bring Lee’s baby brother home in June.
We know that God orchestrated this story, even through the trials and heartache. God's plan is perfect, not painless.
If you have been through the adoption process, you know it is a very costly process. We are very grateful that Lifesong has given us a matching grant up to $5,000. This means the first $5,000 God provides through gifts will be matched 100%. Every gift is DOUBLED!
Thank you so much for your interest in what God is doing in our family. Whether you’re able to give a gift or not, please pray with us during this time. Thank you!
