Hi, we are Kim, Austin and Chloe. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
We knew we always wanted to adopt alongside having biological children. Our plans changed after years of infertility and a failed in-vitro fertilization attempt. We took some time to grieve this loss and to pray over what God had planned for us.
As time went on, we remembered our talks about adopting and with much haste, we took steps to make our dream a reality. With faith, prayer, and the support of our family and friends, Chloe joined us (Kim and Austin at the time) to mark the start of our adoptive family in 2016. As most parents would know, words can’t begin to describe how blessed we are to be her parents. She is the greatest joy of our lives and we are honored that we get to be a part of her life.
We are ready to continue to grow our family through adoption with a baby brother or sister for Chloe and for us to bring the gift of parenthood to another child.
We know God has this planned out for us, but the adoption journey remains a very taxing and emotional one. We were recently matched with a birth mom who was going to have a baby girl. We were so excited and felt very confident the newborn baby was going to be our daughter and were ready with all the preparations that go into bringing a newborn home. Almost immediately post-delivery the birth mom decided to parent her baby. Two weeks later we found out she did want to proceed with the adoption plan and after spending some time with the baby girl her birth mom changed her mind again and decided to parent her baby. Needless to say, we were heartbroken and remain hopeful that baby and mom experience a life of joy and love together.
Our journey continues and we’re currently waiting to be matched again. We’re using this time to continue fundraising to help offset the cost of adoption. Many of us know it can be cost prohibitive to grow a family through adoption. The expected cost is approximately $28,000. We’ve saved some money, friends and family have already contributed to our fund, along with some other financial assistance options. But we still have a long way to go to reach the amount needed to bring our baby home. We are hoping to raise $10,000 by fundraising.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and being a part of our family-story! We are so grateful for you!
