We have been awarded $7500 in matching grants from The Agape Family Legacy Fund + Lifesong for Orphans and are so grateful for that wonderful start to fundraising.
We met in 2014 at church. We became good friends by getting to know one another through the worship team and a common prayer group . After knowing that God was leading us together, we said yes in marriage in November of 2016. Our marriage has been filled with the love and growth of the Lord. We have learned to support and love each other in both the good times and the bad. We lost our first child in a miscarriage, but soon after we were blessed with our beautiful daughter, Elisha. Elisha truly is our miracle child. She fills our life with joy, laughter and fun. Katie lost her father in 2020, and right after, we had 4 consecutive losses, including an ectopic pregnancy. God continued to put family in our hearts and we have never given up hope for more children. The Lord has put His heart for adoption and for children/families that need love and raising in our hearts and we are so excited for this journey. We are teachers at heart and desire children to be brought up with an opportunity to know Jesus and to walk in all that they are meant to be and do.
During trials of losses and hard times, we felt the Lord’s presence comfort and guide us. We leaned on Him as our rock and trusted in His love and goodness. Throughout the last 2 years, our hearts were wanting another biological child, but I(Katie) was not feeling like I was ready emotionally to handle another pregnancy. Earlier this year, we both separately felt a stirring in our hearts towards adoption. I(Katie) was talking on the phone with a friend who adopted and I just spouted out that we were thinking about adopting and were going to want to meet with them to talk to them about their experience. This was before talking with Andre about the stirring in my heart to adopt. Even I was surprised to speak out what had been in my heart during my times with the Lord. The next day, I walked out to the living room in the morning and Andre looked at me and said the Lord was really laying adoption on his heart. We both realized that the Lord had been stirring both of our hearts at the same time. That confirmed this was something we wanted to pursue and we felt the Lord was leading us. Our hearts have been completely pulled towards the child/children that will be soon be under our care and the love we already have for them. We are excited to be a part of the Lord’s plan for this child and their life. We are excited to extend the Lord’s heart and love and be His hands and His feet. Elisha, our daughter, is so excited to be a big sister and can’t wait to welcome in our new addition to our home. We cannot wait to go on this journey and we know it will be completely worth it.

Lifesong has been blessed with partners who underwrite all U.S. administrative and fundraising costs (TMG Foundation and other partners). That means 100% of your donation will go directly to the adoption.
- In following IRS guidelines, your donation is to Lifesong for Orphans. This organization retains full discretion over its use, but intends to honor the donor’s suggested use.
- Lifesong is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. Individual donations of $50 or more and yearly donations totaling $250 or more will receive a tax-deductible receipt. Receipts for donations under $50 will gladly be sent upon request.
