We have been interested in adoption for several years and it has always been a topic of conversation in our home. We have become motivated to provide love and guidance through adoption. About 16 years ago, one of Yesseika’s brothers was adopted and the entire experience has impacted her life. She was a teenager at the time and was fully aware of the process and it helped her to become interested in adoption. She studied mental health counseling and did extensive training with at risk children 0-5 years of age. This experience also sparked a desire to have a large family and provide all our children with unconditional love. My motivation behind adopting comes from the present reality of the global orphan crises. There are currently over 100 million orphans that do not have forever families. We believe that every child deserves to have a family and a home. We truly believe that raising awareness, and stepping into adoption ourselves, will help eliminate the present reality. We decided to go beyond our borders and look into international adoption. Our hearts lead us to South America.
We currently have three amazing boys: Daniel (7), Matteo (4), and Lucas (1). Our children are aware of the adoption plans and are just as excited as we are about growing our family through adoption. We would like to adopt one to two children between 0-6 years of age. We want to enrich the children by providing them with a family of love, faith, laughter, education and emotional support. We’re blessed to count on the support of our incredible family, our tight knit network of friends, and our amazing church community at Mosaic Church in Winter Garden, Florida. These wonderful people have been with us from the beginning of our journey and continue to give us encouragement, love and support. We recently were awarded a matching grant from Love Made Visible Adoption Fund, administered by Lifesong for Orphans which comes as an answered prayer considering all the costs that comes with an international adoption. By the time our adoption is finalized, our total cost will reach close to $40,000. We understand there are more challenges that may come our way on top of the ones we’ve already faced, but through it all God has never nor will He ever fail us. We are so excited to carry out the plans the God has for our family through adoption.
