Wow!! We are just in awe of how God is providing for us during this journey to adopt! We are grateful to each and every one of you – our family, friends, and community who have so graciously supported, given, prayed for and cheered us on.
Most of you know our story – we were blessed with Samuel through adoption a little over 4 years ago. We have a very open adoption and have stayed in contact with his birth mother and her family over the past four years. In March of this year, Samuel’s birth mother reached out to let us know she was facing another unplanned pregnancy and asked if we would adopt this baby. We praise God that she chose life for this baby girl, and that she knew she could call us.
After that phone call, there was an array of emotions including overwhelming to excitement, but most of all gratefulness. And although we had some money saved, it wasn’t near enough to afford an adoption that would be more than $25,000. But we trusted God, and we started praying. And He has been providing – from our T-shirt sale, to my friend who used her business and donated all the sales, to so many who have donated stuff to our upcoming yard sale and to generous friends and family who have already just given because they wanted or felt compelled to.
Jeremy and I were talking the other day and both admitted that we really did trust that God would provide for us – but man, it is still amazing to watch Him actually do it!
Now for some big news – We are excited to announce that we have been awarded a $3000 matching grant from Josiah’s Adoption Fund, administered through Lifesong for Orphans. So in other words, every dollar given towards our adoption will be doubled up to $3000 – turning $3000 given by our family and friends into $6000! Can y’all believe that?!?!
This is the homestretch – the homestretch of the pregnancy and of raising funds! Expectant momma and baby girl are 30 weeks and doing well! Esther is due to arrive towards the end of October! And this matching grant, along with the yard sale and mission dinner within the next month will help us to cover all our adoption expenses!
Please keep praying for us and for expectant momma and her family. And if you feel led or compelled to contribute financially, your donation is sincerely appreciated and will go directly to our remaining need.
Please feel free to contact us, we would love to tell you more of our story or answer any questions.
