A Worldwide Adoption

Christian and Marie Burtt
Christian and Marie Burtt Auburn, California

We are Christian and Marie...we currently live in Romania, we met and got married in the USA and we are adopting from Colombia! We have two permanent children, Addy and Mercy. We have been privileged to love other children as their foster parents but this is our first international adoption.

Our work here in Romania is with orphaned and abondoned kids, so we see first hand the effects of children being raised without a forever family. But our desire to adopt started when we were first dating, well actually it started when we were in high school but we discussed it when we were dating. :-) In California, we were foster parents to three wonderful girls that we hoped to adopted, but they ended up being reunified with their birth mom. A couple years ago we were in the middle of a domestic adoption, but after having our sweet boy 3.5 months, his legal parents changed their mind and took him back.

Which brings our story to today, ready again to adopt, this time an international adoption from Colombia. Our desire is to adopt siblings, kids that are now considered "un-adoptable" because they are not babies or toddlers. Addy and Mercy are so excited to have more siblings and keep asking, "when are we traveling to Colombia to get our brothers and sisters?!"

Thank you for believing in the miracle of adoption and helping us conquer the financial hurdles of being missionaries that are adopting. Thank you for helping children find their forever family with us!
